Roger did a great job of route selection.  Pat came and wished us a Merry Christmas and then we enjoyed a  tour of many points north and west of Melbourne.

The tale has now been told by Roger which is good as I was frequently not certain of my location  See below
In the mean time some photos are Here -

It struck me that 11 bikes, plus a cameo appearance by Pat Ryan, was a good turnout for the last Sunday before Christmas, and we were rewarded with a fine mild day. Steve Bailes treated us from his box of Christmas biscuits as we arrived at Ardeer. Other riders were Stewart Tepe (TEC), Les Cox back in action, Vince Green and Cathy two up, John Cook,Terry Heaney and Seamus, Dennis Alesi, John Markham and Julian Siuksta. I had planned a relatively short and undemanding route starting with a run up the Western Highway to a right turn at Leakes Rd which we followed all the way to Holden Rd before joining the Diggers Rest - Coimadai Rd, and then the Gisborne Rd into Bacchus Marsh. After another short blast up the highway we took the Pentland Hills Rd through Myrniong and turned to Greendale, and then  to Trentham for morning tea for which my wife had kindly provided home made mince tarts which were much appreciated. We left via the Woodend Rd but turned up James Lane at Tylden, and then left onto Pearsons Rd at The Pig and Whistle before taking Ashbourne Rd into Woodend. From there we crossed over Mt Macedon in fine weather for a change, and then took the back way to Gisborne by way of Brougham and Syndicate Rds, Glen Drouitt Rd and Barringo Rd. It was a plain and simple ride to suit the occasion. Thanks to all for coming, and to John Cook for the photos.
