As restrictions eased and we were no longer required to “Stay at Home”, 9 of us met at Lilydale to simply have a chat and go for a bit of a ride.
As we were still subject to directives to stay within 25 km of “home”, we had to innovate and broke up into two groups.
Colin, Jack, Jeff and Tom joined Pat on a ride which headed off in the direction of Wonga Park I believe, and I will leave it to Pat to provide more detail.
Andrew, David and Ian joined me on a ride around “the back” of the Dandenongs. We headed east, left the highway and took back roads to Mount Evelyn and then some diversions back to Wandin North before following one of my favourite roads past farms and Orchards to Monbulk.
We then cut down to Cockatoo and did a loop including Paternoster Road and came back to Yellingbo before looping via Seville and on to Gruyere. From there we found our way up to Kalorama and descended back to Montrose where we called it a day and headed off to enjoy our Sunday afternoon.
Thank you to all who came, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
I suppose it was the first “Branch” Ride since July and I’m really looking forward to the next.
