SUNDAY 28th MARCH 2021

Ride Leader : Mike Fittall
Tail End Charlie : Ian Monks
Report : Mike Fittall
Riders : Mike, Ian, Stewart, Jeff, Steve, Jack, Les, John, Colin, Reece, Vince
Weather : cloudy and cool, sunny later

Eleven of us met up at McDonalds, including Les via Ardeer and Jack via the Geelong road once or twice. But impressively both before 10am ! We thought we had a new rider, but quickly realised it was Reece on two wheels. Now we are familiar with the Werribee suburbs, the rail crossing was quickly dispensed with and we zig zagged through Little River and Lara, with a good view of the You Yangs on the way. A short burst on the Geelong freeway took us onto the Anakie  road, and then to Bannockburn by various roads courtesy of a u-turn and quick checks of Google Maps (no satnav on the MT07 !). Morning tea was enjoyed in the sun at Inverleigh.

We then rode across country to Winchelsea and Moriac (only a short u-turn here, more skills practice – Steve is getting very good at turning the Goldwing around !). The rolling Barrabool hills and great scenic views up the top were a feature of this part of the ride, including a ride through Ceres before descending onto the freeway and into Waurn Ponds. The shopping centre carpark was busy enough to convince several riders to head home. The rest of us had lunch inside before leaving for a short spin up through Ceres, and then hitting the freeway for home.

Another good day out in good company, a variety of roads, mainly straighter than some so quite relaxed. The ride leader is pleased to report that Ian, who comes from down that way, had not been on some of the roads (but nor had the ride leader !). See the Facebook page for a route map loaded up by Reece (thank you).
