New southern Ride Start point

Submitted by Not the Messiah on Wed, 06/06/2018 - 12:53pm

All rides using the southern Ride Start point will now leave from a new location at Officer.

The Committee investigated suggestions that the old Dandenong start point had become less than ideal due to the urban growth and the longer distances needing to be traveled to get to the real riding roads, and has decided upon a new location at Officer.

Branch Name Badges are now available. They are locally made and just $6.85 including postage! I saw members from South Gippsland wearing these on Alf's recent ride and got the details from him. Thanks Alf!

BMW Icicle Ride 23 Jun 2018 5pm to 12 midnight

Submitted by Greg G on Tue, 05/06/2018 - 12:28pm

My son Peter and I are considering this ride.  It is obviously a "weather dependent" decision, so we are not pre-registering.  Also, if that whole weekend is good weather, we might do an overnighter to Hall's Gap - father/son bonding, etc!!  So we might not do the Icicle, but if we do, are any others interested in tagging along?  We don't know many people in the BMW Club and we're both quite shy!!! (Get up off the floor and stop laughing.....)  Seriously, it's a good fund raiser and night rides are a little bit different.

Roger Foot's Lancefield Ride Via Trentham 3 06 18

Submitted by Greg G on Sun, 03/06/2018 - 4:36pm

Fifteen riders arrived at Ardeer in high spirits in superb winter sunshine.  Getting there was cold, and the Blackwood to Trentham segment threatened to be even more so, but rugged up ands raring to go, we ran up the Western Freeway and off towards Eynesbury, skirting around to enter Bacchus Marsh from the south.  From there, the picturesque Pentland Hills Road through Myrniong to play with some fire trucks, then to Greendale and its sweeping curves and gentle undulations.

Ride Report 27 May 2018

A group of ten riders turned up at Kalkallo in lovely if cold weather for the ride. In addition John Cook joined us along the Myers Creek Road between Toolangi and Healesville with camera in hand and striking a suitable photographer’s pose as we sped past him heading for the Beechworth Bakery at Healesville. Andrew, Jack and Martin also joined us at Healesville to bring our total for the ride to fourteen. Not bad for early winter.
