It had to happen ....  I started searching the WEB for a Vincent here in Australia and found a few but invariably they were not originals - in that while in most part - all of the components were made by Vincent-HRD in the UK in all cases what I saw was bikes put together from parts from a number of other bikes - in effect an assembly of spare parts.  What I was seeking was an original - where all of the component parts were as built by the factory.  This can be verified by checking the chassis numbers (there

About 6 months back (say Feb 2011) I was in my garage working on one of my bikes when a neighbor dropped by for a chat and makes the casual remark along the lines of “you must know the inside if that bike better than the outside”.  One thing led to another and with me making the observation that I had always wanted a classic British bike to restore then ride – the neighbor out and tells me that he knows of an old Vincent Comet single that has stood unloved in a garage for over 20 years.

hi all,

I'm considering a bike upgrade in the coming twelve months. I currently ride a 750cc Honda shadow (it is the C2 model shadow the rarer style which has a (21" front wheel not 17" like most shadows which are C4models with smaller front wheel longer guards )

I'm considering the VTX1300 cc which is basically the next Honda cruiser up from the shadow.

Naturally I know it will have a much longer wheelbase but more powerful engine.
