Ride Leader Mike Fittall 0456 561 395

NOTE SPECIAL START TIME 9AM at Ardeer    smiley

Mike is taking us on a ride with a difference. The early start is to enable the ride to reach Lake Goldsmith by around midday. The Lake Goldsmith Steam Rally is on there that day with vintage steam engines, cars and we are told motorbikes. We will spend a couple of hours looking at the exhibitions and return home as a group via a different route. Click on the following link to investigate what is going to be on display and for details of the rally https://www.lakegoldsmithsteamrally.org.au/

The ride up goes through Meredith which is the likely morning tea stop and then over roads we have not ridden on for years, if ever, to Lake Goldsmith. Click on this link for an idea of the outbound route. https://mydrive.tomtom.com/gor-webapp/share/itinerary/569900f7-9884-469b-8a05-50b22f247a01#mode=itinerary+viewport=-37.73384,143.87822,8.79,0,-0+itinerary=%7B%22id%22:%22569900f7-9884-469b-8a05-50b22f247a01%22%7D+ver=3

Coming home the planned route is shown in this link but may be changed if riders prefer to return via the freeway. https://mydrive.tomtom.com/gor-webapp/share/itinerary/4cfd5532-6725-43e2-a0f7-e657424fa978#mode=itinerary+viewport=-37.70179,143.98547,8.52,0,-0+itinerary=%7B%22id%22:%224cfd5532-6725-43e2-a0f7-e657424fa978%22%7D+ver=3

The weather should be pretty good by early November and we have a ride with an interesting destination so please support Mike and join the ride if possible.

The Ulysses Memorial Ride to the cross at Mt Macedon is on on this day. As no-one has offered to lead our branch ride from Ardeer, and as I will be overseas,  anyone who wants a ride turn up at the Ardeer start point and appoint a leader to take you there.

Click on this link to see the route I took last year as it may help in planning. https://www.motowhere.com/explore/route/Ardeer-to-Macedon

The aim is to join the other branches for this ride of remembrance of members who have "Ridden On". You will be directed to the carpark at the top of Mt Macedon for a short ceremony followed by a BBQ lunch provided by Geelong Branch at a minimal cost.

Contact me if you decide to lead.

Still working on details but after heading east at first, I am hoping to head south through Dumbalk at some stage.
Update 10 November.  Current circumstances dictate that I will be up by the Murray most of this week and my plans for a reconnaissance ride this week have been thwarted surprise
Therefore we have a high chance of navigational glitches heading south out of Mirboo North blush
Adds to the adventure????wink

Ride Leader: Colin Voss 0419 318 651

This will be Colin's first time leading a ride for us so let's all get there and support him. After a long time joining Ulysses rides he has put his hand up to lead us, so well done Colin.

He has chosen a good route as there are some wonderful roads between Lilydale and Korumburra, the weather is likely to be good at that time of the year so we look forward to a big turnup and a great ride.
