We have just returned home from a great weekend riding through the high country with close to 50 like-minded people. My wife Julie and I were made to feel welcome from start to finish. This is the first major ride I have done with the Ulysses Club and thanks to the planning of John, Melbourne’s Branch President, and I am sure other people behind the scenes, the weekend went off without a hitch, riding through some of Victoria’s most spectacular roads at a great pace without any major dramas which is quite a feat when bringing together so many people.
Information bulletin from Tony Ellis.
A point raised in recent discussions concerned the use of Nicknames with real names being hidden. The objection was essentially that not knowing who you were in discussion with took away from the spirit of the club. Its an opinion I think that has truth in that, and so its been decided to propose a change . The profile page at present has a non disclosure - for administration use only caveat for most of the fields that need to be filled out for site membership. We want to change three of those fields to being viewable by longed in members - Namely , The first and Last name , and the suburb.
That would mean that a members real name and the suburb they live in would be visible on each members account page for other members to see.
Nicknames would still be used of course. The proposal is to let members see who has that nick on their account page.
This poll closes in two weeks after which changes will be made ... or not , depending on results
It is with great sadness that I inform you that Mike passed away peacefully at 8pm Sunday. Mike was a keen motorcyclist for many many years and a very early member of the Ulysses Club. He had a long battle with cancer but continued riding until late last year.
There will be a Memorial Service for Mike McCann on Friday 18th March at 1.00pm.
It will be held at Heritage Funerals, 733 Boronia Rd, Wantirna
Geri has asked that members attending come by motorbike as "he would love to see the bikes".
