For those who may be interested, I seem to recall that Grant was providing articles in "Bike Australia" Magazine in the early 1980s when that publication was also involved in the creation of the Ulysses Club. 
One article I fondly remember was a multi day comparo between 4 250 cc 4 stroke road bikes. It included a punt along the Great Ocean Road plus an overnight stay at Tidal River! They made an interesting read about a group of bikes which would generally have been thought of as boring necessities for learners at that time.
