First let me thank Geoff Wiliams (who was the Ulysses Club liaison person with Vic Roads for this scheme) for the years of work he has put into making this scheme available to members.

We are all set for Ride Leaders until the beginning of July. You are all welcome to lead and let us enjoy your favorite road. Different leaders are the best way for all of us to discover new interesting roads. Please don't be shy. All of us regulars began by leading our first ride. The good thing is the Leader never makes a mistake. He planned it that way. Only those following make errors. Even U-turns are planned. It keeps everyone behind sharp. So, put your hand up to lead. At the end of the the day I think you will find you enjoyed giving everyone else someone to chase.
The weather during breakfast was just plain horrible - grey, drizzly and wet ! But the rain radar suggested the drizzle was heading north-east while the ride was going north-west. So I rode off to Kalkallo expecting to only see one or two others turn up, to be met by three riders already waiting ! In the end 11 of us left Kalkallo (once Jack had arrived) and went up to Wallan and across to Woodend, with the temperature staying in the 9-10 deg range.

Yeah yeah, I know - it’s not the third Wednesday but with the excitement of getting home after the National Rally I lost track of the calendar.
With a few regulars out of the country (who said “quick, shut the gate?”) it will be a small one so please venture out for the evening and join me, myself and I at the Club!
