For Mother's Day we were greeted with as perfect a weather day as could be imagined for Autumn. Only a relatively small but keen group turned up at Officer. Family commitments are important. Also we have a number of members either overseas, recovering from operations, skin grafts or just returned from time away at the National Rally.
Steve Bailes put his hand up for rear rider duties. We took the twisty way out of Officer to Pakenham, then crossing the railway line and through the many small towns to Druin. Taking the Neerim Sth road we soon turned left to go through Jindivick onto Neerim Sth for morning tea. Jeff, 650 V Strom left us here. M/Tea over it was on to the tight back road meeting with the Old Sale Road, left there, followed by many kms of empty sweeping road before turning right coming back to the highway at Trafalgar. A short run on the highway brought us to Yarragon, then left there to go through Ellinbank and into Warrugal for lunch. Khiat, with a new Corgi pup at home departed here.
Lunch over, next was Neerim Sth again, turning left just before entering Neerim Nth and joining the Noogee State Forest Road back to Melbourne.
A fine day out, incident free on roads which keep your attention and had light traffic at worst. Thanks to those who came and if we can get another day as fine before Winter we will be most fortunate.
