The Melbourne Branch hosts an informal Social Night during the course of each month and this has generally been on the third Friday of each month.

UPDATED 7 July 2021

Until July 2016 this was done for many years at the Tower Hotel, Hawthorn East.  From 2016 we met at the East Malvern RSL but the venue closed late 2019.
We experimented at Highett in December 2019, Ringwood in January 2020 plus some other venues then that damn virus interfered too. .

In June 2021 we had a successful social night on a Wednesday at the Mulgrave County Club and intend to do it again in July

Always check calendar or contact committee for current status as no permanent location or scheduling arrangement has been confirmed yet.

What makes these nights special is the camaraderie and friendship enjoyed by all who attend with much laughter and frivolity emanating from the various groups and tables. For new chums and first timers, introductions are made in the normal Ulyssean manner which ensures that nobody is left standing on the outer and everyone is made to feel welcome.

These nights are often filled with the usual mirth-filled talk about motorbikes and bike trips, travel in general, philosophy, geography and the usual odd joke etc. Someone always seems to have an Australian Road Atlas which is oft referred to and it is heartening to note that some members don't mind a little embellishment to make their story more interesting. One should never let the facts stand in the way of delivering a good punch line or yarn!

These nights are not to be missed so pencil them into your social calendar and come along and enjoy the fun.
