Six of us enjoyed extending the Australia Day holiday by exploring the Upper Murray on a three day mid-week ride based around Tallangatta this year. The small group size enabled us to dispense with most of the normal protocols such as corner markers etc, and we simply kept an eye out for each other and it worked well.
Brian (our branch president) had a very busy weekend and excelled himself.
On Saturday he led a ride to Ballarat and attended the Victorian Breakfast Club (VBC) which was attended by about 60 people associated with the Ulysses Club from all round Victoria.
The very next day he led a great ride along some fantastic roads and topped that by arranging to meet a group of Ulysseans from Gippsland along the way which culminated in a lunch stop with Central Gippsland Branch at Yarram
We had a great roll up today and Mike led us on a very enjoyable ride with our president Brian doing TEC Duty.
More joined us at Yea and we enjoyed lunch in Eildon Village (it was good to see it actually busy) after a couple of scenic stops along the way

Well this year's end of year ride was always going to be different! Brian did a reconnaissance on Thursday and found that while the route was great, the proposed venue at Silvan certainly wasn't with faulty barbecues, a closed toilet block and little guarantee of shelter plus concern over sharing limited facilities. Then the BOM issued a rather dire forecast so we decided (once I'd cleared it with Kris) to change the venue to our home in Montrose which isn't that far from Silvan.
