Jack's Mystery Ride, 11/6/2023.

Submitted by ANDREW.KENNEDY on Mon, 12/06/2023 - 1:07pm

Sunday dawned fine and beautiful for Winter. The Mystery was no more. Jack was taking us to Mirboo Nth. Thirteen riders were starting ( if I counted correctly) and Sam put his hand up for rear rider duties. Much appreciated Sam. From the start, heading for Coldstream the police threw a litte confusion into the ride by splitting the group including the leader onto a side track for breath tests. We reformed but lost Gay and Mike who rejoined us at Neerim Sth for morning tea.

Sunny Sunday ride June 4th Korumburra & Grand Ridge Road

Submitted by Not the Messiah on Mon, 05/06/2023 - 12:14pm

Trust the Bureau's forecast?  17 or 18 of us did and were rewarded with a locely sunny day after a grey rainy Saturday and a foggy start on Sunday.
After checking that new member Michael (Triumph) and new face Paul (Whittlesea Branch member, Kawasaki) were briefed on the corner rider navigation we scooted off down the freeway and a few straight roads to get down south to the good bits. And good they were too, with the green grassy views of the Gippsland hills and dry roads and light traffic.

Ride Report, Ardeer to Gisborne

Submitted by rogerfoot1 on Sun, 28/05/2023 - 4:32pm

I take as my text for today the immortal words of our beloved dear departed brother Chuck Berry:  "C'est la vie, say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell."

Steve, Big Dave and I touched down in Ardeer in the middle of the pouring rain, and after discussing options for the ride decided to play it by ear.

Ride Report - Kalkallo, not to Clunes (21st May 2023)

Submitted by MikeF on Sun, 21/05/2023 - 6:40pm

The weather during breakfast was just plain horrible - grey, drizzly and wet ! But the rain radar suggested the drizzle was heading north-east while the ride was going north-west. So I rode off to Kalkallo expecting to only see one or two others turn up, to be met by three riders already waiting ! In the end 11 of us left Kalkallo (once Jack had arrived) and went up to Wallan and across to Woodend, with the temperature staying in the 9-10 deg range.
