2013 Melbourne Branch Odyssey at Nagambie
We were treated to some magnificent weather for the Odyssey this year and a good size group of attendees were able to meet Kris and me at Lilydale on Friday morning and we headed off at 10.00am.
A crisp day with perfect riding conditions saw Mick Hedger, Matthew Gale and myself depart Kalkallo at 07.30 on Friday November 1st en route for a rendezvous in Yea at 08.30 with Sam Bateman and late entrant Jeff Thorne. Jeff had already registered for The Snowy Ride and booked accommodation when he saw the notice on the website and asked to join us for the ride up.
A while ago I noticed “The Snowy Ride – 2013” and decided to join in. I arrived at the Dandenong departure location at about 7.50 a.m. only to find it totally bereft of older people on motorcycles. I figured I must have missed a logistical detail or two and knowing how fast the group rides, relative to me, immediately gave up hope of catching up, if in fact there was a Ulysses posse ahead of me.
