The weather gods did not look kindly upon us for the 2014 Very Special kids event. The previous night, most areas received considerable rainfall and this possibly contributed to the smaller than usual attendance numbers. However, it did not deter the twenty families (eighty people) who attended from enjoying themselves and generally having a good time. The weather eventually cleared and, apart from a few early showers, it remained dry and we even had some afternoon sunshine.
We were again blessed with beautiful clear weather this year. Kris and I were joined by a small group (including a member and his son) at Lilydale for the ride up. We headed off shortly after 10.00 am and went straight out the highways to Glenburn before turning off through Break O Day, Flowerdale and Strath Creek to our morning tea stop at
Hopefully I've attached a link to a video of a ride we did from Schipluiden to Maasland along The "Gaag" ( a canal) in the Netherlands. It feels a bit weird riding on the right hand side of the road. This particular road is two way, single lane with bicycle lanes on both sides.
We had very mild weather in the fortnight leading up to the annual Ice Run and despite the fact that many were away in Alice Springs, or still returning, we ended up with 36 people attending this year’s ride. Seventeen of us met at Dandenong and got under way promptly at 8.00am on Saturday 24 May in mild conditions with clouds looming further to the south and Samuel performing tail end duties. We did a “transport” run along the Monash Freeway for about 80 km past
Just back from Alice Springs after almost 2 weeks away.
As with most AGM's, the journey in getting there and back is often the most exciting part.
